Shapiro’s Bakery Wholesalers, proprietors of the Korn’s and Stern’s Bakery line, is reminding Lakewood residents that quality bakeries have a challenge keeping up with the demand immediately after Pesach.
“Consumers need to know that Baruch Hashem we are not in a time of war or famine,” says Reb Yisroel Meir Shapiro of Shapiro’s Bakery Wholesalers. “People need to know that IY’H there will be plenty more bread every weekday until next Pesach הבא עלינו לטובה. We are literally working 24/6 to bring all our products back to the shelves. Bread products and Pastry products too. We are extremely grateful for the tremendous demand for our products year round. However, BH due to that huge demand, it does take some time to get everything going as needed.”
He adds, “So instead of grabbing six or more loaves and putting them in the freezer, please just take what you need for now and feel free to come back the next day for more. You will be really helping the situation.”
Shapiro says that despite literally working around the clock, it takes about two weeks to get back to normal and accommodate the market after Pesach.
“We wish everyone A Gezinten Zimmer and all the best! Thank you for your understanding and patronage!”
While I applaud Mr. Shapiro’s good efforts in attempt to assuage our fears, please remind him that the current Biden administration has made it very clear that the country is still in the grips of a serious pandemic and another total lockdown may be decreed. The nation needs to make sure there is enough bread just in case.
So, please keep the dough lines rolling as quickly as possible.
The point is, like my Rav, Rav Moshe Aaron Stern zt”l always said, is to think about others. I work in one of the main grocery stores in Lakewood. People grabbed 6+ loaves to stock their freezer for the week in the early am and we were wiped out quickly. If we would all take what we need for today, then many more families would have had bread today. It may be more convenient not to come back until you shop for Shabbos but think of the Chesed opportunity that was missed.
