Timothy Hale-Cusanelli, a Nazi sympathizer who is facing charges over storming the US Capitol on January 6th, should be held in prison as he awaits trial because he poses a serious threat to Lakewood’s Orthodox Jewish population, the Department of Justice told the court.
“Defendant poses a more localized threat to the community, particularly the Hassidic community in Lakewood, New Jersey,” DOJ prosecutors wrote. “Defendant has demonstrated specific animosity towards the Jewish population and expressed a desire to commit violence against Jewish people.”
Hale-Cusanelli, 30, worked as a contractor at Navy Weapons Station Earle in Monmouth County before being arrested over his involvement in the Capitol riot. He often espoused Nazi rhetoric and spewed anti-Semitic propaganda and conspiracy theories on his now-defunct YouTube channel. He has been charged with seven counts, including obstructing Congressional proceedings, civil disorder, and disorderly conduct at the Capitol.
His lawyers have requested that he be released from prison prior to his trial, arguing that he is not actually a white supremacist because “his father and his father’s family are of Puerto Rican origin.”
TLS recently revealed that Hale-Cusanelli is a donor to CUPON, an organization devoted to making it difficult for Orthodox Jews to move into new towns, and that one of its leaders, Elenor Hannum, has not returned his donation, choosing rather to hide his identity on the online fundraising page.
I’m glad it’s only for the “Hasidic” community in Lakewood and not the rest of the Jews who live in Lakewood.
Someone should get hold of the DOJ who wrote this, and tell him he looks and sounds like…. a fool!

I would never defend a guy like this, but what I do find strange is the strange inconsistency in the DOJ.
While this person may very well represent a danger to the community, and should be held without bail. What I find strange is the massive amount of people who were arrested on from events stemming on 1/6, whose charges do not include charges for violent acts, yet are being held without bail.
There have been people charged with attempted murder, who actually shot someone on video (James Marshall) that is walking free on $6,000 bail, yet many others (and I am not referring to this guy) who just walked through the open doors of the capital, that are being held without bail.
Additionally, while some on 1/6 were violent and should face severe charges, many who just walked through open doors are being charged as well and facing decades in jail.
At the same time, in Portland and other cities, courthouses and police stations are burned, officers attacked (federal and local) amd their are no charges being brought, in fact many who were charged, had their charges dropped.
It would be nice to see dome uniform application of law, so the populace can have their faith restored in the DOJ
Good news for Lakewood. But on the other side of the coin you have the DOJ branding EVERYONE who “STORMED” the Capitol a white supremacist and locked them up for keeps with no bail. Meanwhile the rioters are let back in the streets (even with priors and warrants) with no bail committing horrifying and deadly crimes. This wannabe whiteness attempt to deny and cancel his true heritage by trying to prove he’s a white dude to the extreme just goes to show the guy is a psychopath. It’s just the same basic pathology of Geraldo Rivera (Jerry Rivers), Dolezal, Kaepernick, et al.

@Zev he was in and trained by the Army before he left to become a military contractor for the Navy. He has been trained to kill and is obviously mentally disturbed. I wouldn’t attempt to fight him because he is a violent menace that isn’t should never been released in the public ever again because he openly said he wants to kill Jews, Blacks, Women and Latinos and is/was/could be again well armed.
Call the police and keep yourself safe. Not everyone will back down.

There’es more to the story — after the war, many heads were convicted of war crimes, yet were all released, because Americans wanted the know how and profits etc. It’s profits before lives.
