There was an attempted luring incident in Toms River over Shabbos, the mother of one of the victims tells TLS.
At approximately 3:20 PM on Shabbos afternoon, a 10-year-old girl was pushing a toddler in a stroller in front of her home when she was stopped my driver who asked her if she wanted candy, the sister-in-law of the victim and mother of the child in the stroller said. Luckily, the girl was smart enough to run away.
“Parents, please be aware, this is happening right in front of peoples homes!” the mother said.
The suspect is being described as a white man wearing a mask, and driving a red car.
Anyone with information should call the Toms River Police Department.
Everyone should check their cams to see where he went
Where in toms river?! Its huge and not all connected
Which area in TR was this in ?
Maybe he was just a nice man who wanted to give a kid
a candy?
It is NEVER ok for an adult to approach a child they do not know, ever, ever ever. Adults with no evil motive know better. Would you want your kids taking candy from a stranger?
Statistically, the least amount of child abductions are by strangers although that number goes up every year.
Two important things: Teach your child these words: “STRANGER DANGER”. Tell them to scream as loud as they can and run to the closest familiar person or dwelling.
