2. It has become a tradition for the Sephardic Chief Rabbi to wear an embroidered, patterned robe.

   It seems to have started with Rav Ovadia Yosef, Zatzal. Each Rav has had a different pattern over the years. Rav Amar’s is particularly interesting as it appears to be Pine, with no stars or flowers.
