Israel Mask Requirement Largely Cancelled | Chaim V’Chesed

On June 14, Health Ministry Director General Chezi Levi issued a directive significantly loosening Covid restrictions in Israel. Beginning today, June 15,  the requirement for masks to be worn indoors has been lifted. This cancels the only major Covid restriction remaining within Israel.

At this point, the only people who will be required to mask are: Employees or guests who have not been vaccinated or recovered at welfare institutions, long-term care facilities or homes for the elderly, individuals en-route to quarantine, and passengers on flights.

The Ministry has not yet issued rules regarding masks in schools. These are expected to be released in the coming days.

After this momentous ruling, the one area of Covid restrictions which remains in place is entry to Israel. Foreigners continue to be largely barred from entering Israel, except for specific categories such as students, relatives of Israelis, and some other groups, as outlined here.
