  1. It’s a relief to hear that 92% of vehicle burglaries are only done to unlocked vehicles; because today’s vehicles have all of their interior electronics and infotainment system permanently and well built-in; it’s impossible to quickly rip anything out without damaging it, and it’s a 90% chance that it will not work in another vehicle thus giving it a zero resale value.
    History of vehicle burglaries:
Vehicles used to get their front doors window shattered or the vehicle was ripped open.
In the 1980’s am-fm-cassette radios were covered up and vehicles had a sign posted “No Radio”.
In the 1990’s all vehicle aftermarket and some factory radios had built in sleeves and came with a carrying case of which the radios slid out; fancy woman used to come in to my office carrying their car radios which were larger than their purse.
In the Late 1990’s vehicle radios came with codes and a removable face and a case for it of which you were able to remove it and throw it in your glove box.
In 2002 thick portable GPS’s with 3” screens became popular; for the next 8 years if they were left visible in the vehicle they and you front door window was gone.
