TODAY: Emergency Blood Drive in Lakewood | Sponsored by Bikur Cholim and TLS

Blood supplies at New Jersey Hospitals remain critically low due to the cancellation and postponement of hundreds of blood drives during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Access to blood for transfusion is critical to hospitals’ ability to treat urgent and planned surgical procedures and chronic illnesses.

The good news is that you can help.

An emergency blood drive sponsored by Bikur Cholim and TLS, will be held at the Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus on Thursday, June 17, 2021,from 1:30 to 7:30 pm. The drive will be held in the Schulman Conference Center on the main floor of the hospital.

Type O blood is particularly in short supply at the present time but all blood types are needed. I.D. is required to donate.

Medical eligibility questions can be answered by a Blood Service staff person by calling 732-235-8100 ext.  248. Appointments are strongly encouraged and available at www.rwjuhdonorclub.org or by calling the Blood Service  at732-235-8100 ext. 221.

Masks will be required.

If you have received a COVID-19 vaccination please bring your vaccination card with you. Recent travel related questions and temperature monitoring is in effect at all blood drives.

  1. I got the Pfizer vaccine for work and I started to not feel well. My doctor is monitoring me. She says I should not give blood at this time. Otherwise I am perfectly healthy except for some side-effects. I suggest that you consult your physician before you volunteer or give a call to the number above. I called and they will not accept my donation.
