The New Jersey Department of Education notified the Jackson School District today that it has approved the district’s application for Stabilization Aid in the amount of $6 million and $246,633 in Education Rescue Grant funds.

“This is great news,” said Nicole Pormilli, Superintendent of Schools, “as the district will be facing another $4.1 million cut based on the State Bill S2 for the 2022-2023 school budget. The district has already lost $11 million since the onset of the S2 Bill four years ago.”

She added, “The Jackson School District greatly appreciates that this application was approved and would like to thank our Business Administrator Michelle Richardson and Assistant Business Administrator Sandy Patterson for their work on the application, the Board of Education and all the staff and parents who have been advocating for the district to receive additional funding.

The approved funding will address our current fiscal situation and help with the 2022-2023 budget. It will save staff positions that support the wonderful programs available to our Jackson students. The district is thankful for this good news and for the community-wide effort to advocate that we receive this support.”
