A pedestrian is in serious condition this morning after being struck by a vehicle in Lakewood.
The accident occurred on Route 70 around 1:25 AM.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel found a victim with a serious head injury. The patient is being transported to JSUMC.
An investigation is underway.

What’s a pedestrian doing crossing route 70 at night ; I would be scared to cross it during the day.
Many years ago I gave in my car to be serviced on Route 37 , Toms River and I needed to Rent a Car across the street; I refused to walk down to the traffic light and cross Route 37, I called a Taxi and paid their high price at that time just to cross the street; Route 70 is just as bad if not worse, pedestrians must stay off of it at all times.
Any more info? Is there a name to be mispalel?
