  1. I’m not an airplane mechanic, but from what it looks like that engine was running very hot and caught fire while still on the ground , if it would have heated up in the air the 700 mph wind & high altitude would have cooled it.
Probably that engine had an oil leak and the oil totally leaked out; since the airlines are so busy now and overwhelmed they didn’t notice or ignored seeing the oil on the ground.
It’s very dangerous to fly and what are people running to Florida for, 35 years ago my wife and I used to enjoy it for a few days, Miami Beach used to have many nice, inexpensive Kosher Hotels, the boardwalk was packed with Holocaust Survivors, it was nice; Today it’s very crowded and everything is very expensive, not even one kosher hotel, you must walk 20 minutes to a minyan, besides a few Chabad restaurants there’s nothing there .

  2. @mutty I can see that you have no experience as a flight mechanic.
As I am in the midst of actual fight training let me enlight you.
the engine caught fire because of a bird Strike. It had nothing to do with the jet!-the jet is less than 2 years old.
I am not sure if you have ever seen videos of bird strikes[they are the most common midair collisions] but there are-you can check you tube.Happens to be this bird struck while on the takeoff roll so the pilot immediately followed proper procedures (cut the engine and brake…)
And as for your comment that airplanes are dangerous-I would say they are safe(r than a car) due to the amount of inspections before and after every flight and all the flight instruments.because you can’t pull over in the right shoulder and wait for aaa to come(:

  3. When there is an emergency on a plane and you have to use a chute you need to leave everything behind and get off the plane. Amazing how many people walking around with their backpacks. Yours or someone else’s life is not worth whatever is in the luggage. Just get off the plane.
