  1. Why would anyone attempt to pass a bus on the right hand side? It does not matter if the lights were on or not – why would you pass on the right?
Where are you going in such a hurry?

  2. I always thought the lights activated automatically when the door was opened? Lots of blame here. The bus should not be that far to the center and the driver should never pass a school bus on the right side.

  3. Watch carefully. The red lights aren’t flashing. It looks like the bus is waiting to make a left turn, and according to the Mayor of Lakewood, you may pass on the shoulder…

  4. Just like JB said, the bus didn’t have it’s lights flashing so as far as the driver of the SUV knew the bus was stopped waiting to make a left turn. At least the SUV stopped when they realized what was happening, but then the bus driver gets out to scold him? Come on. I have the same thing happen behind my house fairly often. If the bus gets caught at the red light he opens the door and lets the young man out without putting the lights on. He is supposed to pull down onto our street, not drop the boy off in the middle of County Line Rd.

  5. The bus driver is to be excoriated for not activating his lights if he clearly knew he was going to discharge a passenger.
#2)Why didn’t the bus pull all the way over to the right hand side of the road to safely discharge his passenger?
#3) I think this is grounds for immediate dismissal if he/she is not doing the job properly.
