NJSP Deploying Troopers to Public Venues, Including Shuls, in Preparation for Holiday Season

Beginning this week, New Jersey State Troopers from the Target Hardening Unit will conduct security operations as well as make contact with the public at various community events, commercial retail locations, transportation hubs and religious sites throughout the state in preparation for the start of the holiday season.

So, what does this mean?

You can expect to see uniformed troopers from the Special Operations Section and Tactical Patrol Unit conducting operations in and around these different locations. You’ll also see troopers speaking with citizens about our “See Something, Say Something” campaign, which encourages the public to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.

What you won’t see are the plain clothes troopers who will be providing another layer of law enforcement protection, but rest assured, they’ll be there.

This detail is not in response to any specific threat but a Target Hardening Deployment, which is part of our homeland security mission. That mission however, cannot be fully realized without your help.

So remember, if you See Something, Say Something.

To report suspicious activity, call 1-866-4-SAFE-NJ, email [email protected], or call 911.
