  1. Sanz town in westgate (most of westgate) is a disaster!
I dug out 2 neighbors who were still snowed in on Sunday afternoon. Most sidewalks have 1.5 ft+
    Management is almost non existence.
Many calls and same reply each time,
We will put in a ticket to supervisors out on the field.
    Monday sunset,
    Still nothing!

  2. we shouldn’t say which st are bad because most blocks.
Lets just say which streets are well plowed.
It was pretty cool, I drove from walmart(howell nj) to deep into jackson. while driving down kent st,it was clean until lakewoods part of kent. while driving down hope chapel in lakewood it was terrible, untill it turns into jackson….
it was pretty cool to see it live….

  3. I may have understood if the township didn’t have enough manpower or trucks to get the job done properly. But what bothered me was, multiple times, trucks came down my street plowing and they kept going over the same center of the street which was already done. If you’re already sending down the trucks multiple times, why not plow the street properly leaving room for more than one car to pass by at one time or be able to park? This seems even more like wasted resources seeing the comments above where some streets didn’t get plowed at all. On my block, almost everyone made a conscious effort to ensure that no cars were left on the street (as the mayor requested) so the trucks can do their job properly.

I’m not sure if my issue is more about wasting the resources the township had, or the fact my street was only partially done. It does seem like my street was done better than most.

  4. Yes Anon, I agree with you one hundred percent. Plow trucks circled Joyvin Ln in Prospect Vines multiple times, only clearing one side of the road.

  5. North crest is a total wreck. It’s 48 hours since the storm – something doesn’t make sense.
People spent hours digging out their cars and were gone all day! They should have plowed to the curb.
I’m scared for the busses tomorrow.

  6. As a plow operator I think overall the township did a horrible job… the storm ended Saturday evening & now it’s 2 days later and still most busy streets 2 cars cannot pass each other!
Is there a reason the township plows disappeared once Saturday night came?? Oh and I’m not talking abt side streets or dead ends which from what I’ve seen most of them only had 1 or 2 passes with a plow…. There’s no reason that every street is not cleaned curb to curb at this point!! Y shud ppl still have to be worried that driving down the street they will have to go into piles of snow to let ppl pass them??
    Something is very wrong!!!

  7. Westgate, westgate?
So let’s see what happen? Very simple : The Management made a deal with the township that the will take care of the the roads ! So # 1 they didn’t have manpower to do their job – sidewalks #2 after doing all shoveling a whole Shabbos (a Jewish company?!) by the time Sunday came they were burnt ( no shifts here)

  8. I’m reading people’s comments here and it makes me wonder if Lakewood was the only town that was hit hard during this storm. I work in Lakewood but i live in Toms River and yes the majority of the main roads that i have to take from my house to my job are clean but most of the side roads are messy. This was a blizzard not a coating or a few inches of snow. Also another thing i notice from the window of my office was that the contractors were the ones basically cleaning in the middle and later on a DPW truck came, i guess to do a better job and finish what the contractor what supposed to do. But overall i think they did good for the amount of snow

  9. Can someone please clarify where I’m supposed to put my garbage cans for trash pickup? Is it at my curb or should the cans go where the snow was plowed?

I want to make sure that the trucks can reach my cans but don’t want to put the cans in middle of the street.

I’m hoping we can get some clarification on this?

  10. My smaller street was plowed curb to curb and plow trucks came down the street quite often over Shabbos. Thank you DPW! I’m quite happy but I was wondering even over Shabbos at how often the trucks came by and if other streets in Lakewood were getting the same treatment. Apparently, from the comments above, I see they didn’t.

  11. Just taking a survey:

Were there cars parked on the streets that were not plowed “curb to curb”?

Streets with cars parked on one or both sides will not get plowed curb to curb. Just sayin’.

  12. i guess life is not a bowl of cherries CHERRY STREET and BLOSSOM DR has not had even had one plow truck come down the street untill sunday afternoon but once they came they did a fine job so i guess i have to be greatfull for that .
