George Gilmore, the former Ocean County GOP Chairman pardoned by President Donald Trump, will be making a run for the GOP seat, a source close to Gilmore tell The Lakewood Scoop.
Gilmore, 72, was convicted and sentenced in early 2020 to serve one year and one day in prison over tax and loan fraud charges. He appealed the decision, but it was upheld. In January 2021, Gilmore was pardoned by President Trump, who pardoned or commuted the sentences of 143 individuals the night before he exited the presidency.
Currently, the Ocean County Republican Party is headed by Frank Holman.
In January of this year, TLS reported that Holman would not be seeking reelection, and Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy would be vying for the seat.
It was the assumption that Mastronardy would be unchallenged for the seat, including no run by Gilmore.
However, TLS has now learned Gilmore would be announcing his run as early as this Monday.
Should Mastronardy win, he would serve as both Sheriff and GOP Chairman.
The fun will begin.
I have no idea why Trump pardoned him. He is corrupt as they come. He actually said he could stay Chairman and govern from prison. Basically Holman was the lesser of two evils. Gilmore is far from being an angel. Make sure you vote for Mastronardy. He is clean and has always been dedicated to law and order.
why would we elect such a guy? the sheriff has a proven track record of working with all communities. this guy has tried to divide every recent election. let George deal with his financial issues, clear himself up. and stop dividing us!
Gilmore is corrupt. Mastronarndy is running his department like a playbook and is always there for our community. ALWAYS. He deserves everyones vote. Gilmore did a crime. He may have been pardoned but hes still a criminal.
Gilmore will get the frum Jackson vote unless Mastronodity does his job and removes Glory and Skull now
I am running for a seat and will support George Gilmore as te others havent done anything in 4 years.
Just the fact that Gilmore supports the anti-semite Dan Rodrick should be a good enough reason to get rid of him for once and for all.

Ashley is Justin Lambs wife.
Justin lamb is a Toms River councilman, He won his seat by scaring elderly people telling them that the Lakewood Jews are moving in to Toms river and that Jews don’t pay taxes, He said they will open shuls on every block and chase them out of their houses.
Justin is anti-somatic and his wife defiantly should not be representing us as county commissioner.

I am of two minds regarding this.
Gilmore is obviously corrupt and does not deserve our vote.
However, I don’t love the idea of the sheriff also being the GOP chair.
First, it is a distraction from what I would want to be his main focus, namely law enforcement.
Second and more importantly, I feel they are disparate and contradictory jobs. I expect the Sherrif to be above politics and just be a good cop working for us. I expect the GOP chair to be a sleazy politician. I don’t see how you can handle both jobs simultaneously.
Vote Gimore! George Gilmore helped get RUOC taken down. The Sheriff is freinds with RUOC Cuillo. Either denounce Cuillo or loose.
I can’t wrap my head around the fact the George Gillmore teamed up with raging anti semites like Dan Roderick and Justin Lamb. It’s a shame but he killed his own name and buried his legacy by not thinking about the bigger picture.
