Senator Singer: Manhattan Museum of Jewish Heritage Wrong to Cancel Event Featuring Gov. DeSantis

Senator Robert Singer said Manhattan’s Museum of Jewish Heritage was wrong to cancel a planned Jewish Leadership Conference event after the museum learned that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was an invited speaker.

“It’s absolutely appalling that Governor DeSantis, who has been among our nation’s greatest defenders of Jewish families, has been cancelled by the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Manhattan,” said Singer (R-Ocean). “When New York City did nothing to address rampant violence against Jews on the streets, DeSantis welcomed a flood of Jewish families that moved to Florida seeking safety. An institution whose mission is to remember the Holocaust should welcome a leader who strongly protects people of the Jewish faith who are under assault today.”

Singer, who is Jewish, represents Lakewood, one of the largest Jewish communities in the United States. Lakewood is home to the second-largest yeshiva in the world.

Singer noted that DeSantis’s strong support of Jewish families stands in stark contrast to many elected Democrats in New York whose antisemitism is often thinly veiled at best.

“How many times have New York’s Democrat leaders like AOC made comments or taken actions that were hostile to the Jewish community and Israel?” asked Singer. “They get a free pass for shockingly overt antisemitism from New York society because they are progressive, while leaders like DeSantis who actually defend Jewish families are shunned simply for being conservative. It’s disappointing, but not surprising.”

  1. I’m sure that Singer’s supporters will follow his words in lockstep. But factually his argument doesn’t really make sense. De Santis has nothing to do with increase crime and anti semitism in the tri state area. All he is doing is rallying those that follow and don’t think.

  2. I must now reconsider my support financial and otherwise to the museum.
This behavior is intolerable and continues to support my viewpoint that the current Nazis are the American left. I am ashamed of the the museum, an institution like all institutions, in not fostering free and open dialogue.

  3. Why didn’t they want him to speak, is it because he didn’t support the foolish lockdowns (when off-the-wal mart and The Homeless Despot didn’t shut down for a day – throughout the US)?!?!
