Just In Time For Summer: White House To Resume Full Schedule For Public Tours; Here’s How You Can Apply For A Tour

The White House announced Monday that the public will once again be allowed to tour the “people’s house” on a schedule similar to what was available prior to the pandemic.

Beginning July 19th, public touring will be available on a full operating schedule from Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, excluding Federal holidays or unless otherwise noted.

All White House tours are free of charge.

White House tours were suspended for months during the beginning of COVID-19 lockdowns, then were resumed by President Donald Trump in September 2020, only to be canceled again by President Biden following his inauguration in January 2021.

Beginning in April, tours resumed on a very limited basis, with availabilities only on Fridays and Saturdays, which prevented Shabbos-observant Jews from participating.

Tour requests are scheduled on a first come, first served basis and must be submitted through a Member of Congress and their Congressional Tour Coordinator. Constituents may reach your Member of Congress and Congressional Tour Coordinator through the U.S. House of Representative’s Switchboard at 202-225-3121, the U.S. Senate Switchboard at 202-224-3121, or online at www.congress.gov/members.

For residents of the 4th Congressional District, which now includes Lakewood, Toms River, Jackson and Manchester, a tour will have to be scheduled with Rep. Chris Smith’s office at https://chrissmith.house.gov/constituentservices/visitingwashington.htmRequests must be submitted a minimum of 21 days in advance and no more than 90 days in advance of the requested tour date(s). Reservations cannot be accepted for tour dates outside this 21 – 90-day window.
