  1. born here, educated here, works here, pays taxes here, AND employs others WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION here, and then to be told “you don’t belong here”???

this is against the very foundations of this country

    where are the local politicians?

are they not true to the principles set forth by George Washington who wrote against bigotry in his famous letter?

  2. Happens to me every so often while walking to shul in Toms River. No big deal. Grow some thick skin and don’t let every board idiot get you worked up.

It’s also a very helpful reminder of golus.

  3. It happens all the time in jackson from cars going 50+ MPH
i wish they go slower so i can memorize the license plate and file a complaint with the police

  4. I am not Jewish.
yes – this incident is antisemitism and should not be tolerated
They should be reported to the police.
    It really is shameful.
We should respect one another as they respect us.
NO! We should respect one another even when they don’t respect us.

  5. I was walking home and someone shouted from a car at me some very not nice words. I rushed home worried someone else would say things that were very hurtful. I cried myself to sleep. Nah, I understand it’s some bored loser with nothing better to do so I forgot about it in under 2 minutes and enjoyed the rest of the night.

  6. last i checked it is still a free country. takes a lot guts to yell from a moving car.
here is what we should yell back we are Jews and we couldnt be prouder if you dont like it, we’ll yell a little Louder. sad how a few bad apples ruins it for the rest, best is to get the license plate number nex time

  7. As my Ruv always explains American Culture (not law, rights, should be), America has a culture just like we have a culture, says, “A few Jews are OK (often even wanted) too many Jews are a problem.” As we’ve branched out more and more from Lakewood we’ve become “Too many” Inevitably it’s going to upset outsiders more and more who see us as encroaching on their turf.
This axiom is why New York Jews have so much trouble. I lived in a major Frum community where all Jews lived in one general area and the total Jews made up 2.5% of the population. There was virtually no Antisemitism. I hate to break it to everyone but the Antisemitism in and around the Lakewood area is only going to get worse.

  8. I had this shouted at me by a 4 year old! No it didn’t shake me up but it is pretty unbelievable that a child says that. Wonder what she hears at home…

  9. Very sorry to hear
I am writing this not to minimize but possibly to cheer you up.
I grew up on Whitesville Rd in Jackson over 60 yrs ago and I remember walking to Shul on Shabbos with my father and having beer bottles thrown at us. Sometimes with beer still in it. My mother used to say that the hate was so strong, they were willing to forego their beer to harass us
My best response was once someone yelled out “Hey Jew” and I yelled back in my loudest JDL voice “Are you jealous?”
The bottom line is that ignorance and prejudice is very hard to uproot. All we can do is be as good examples as we possibly can and make a kiddish Hashem wherever possible. I have some very good stories as well but time is short.
    Hang in there
    Mark

    • And you are talking about 60 years ago when there weren’t many Jews living in Jackson, and yet, from what you write, it seems like these incidents were common occurrences for you. In other words, not many jews living there, and still the anti semitic harassment. Jus’ sayin’.
My feeling is that, if this type of thing happens once in a long while, I can hear the argument to be made to ignore it, but if it happens often enough, then it’s a lot harder to ignore.

  10. This happened to me many times on Whitesville Rd.
I dont know whypeople are saying “get over it” – we ARE over it – That’s not the point.
The point is they are breaking the law –
This is called a Hate Crime.
Over Shavuos a car parked in front from in my neighborhood got egged.
    That’s a Crime –
We’re just bringing attention to it so TRPD, which does a fantastic job, btw, can be aware of it & look out for it.
    That’s all.
No one is crying themselves to sleep over this. I hope.

  11. Terrible,
Now calling someone a name is a “Hate Crime”? Is this the society we want to become? Or be an adult and deal with someone calling you a name. Did we go from “But words will never hurt me” to name calling is now a “Hate Crime”?
